BJP s ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is leading in one seat, as per the counting update given by the ASEC for 19 seats. The opposition has not been able to lead in any constituency of the council spread over four districts in Assam.

Continuing its winning spree in Assam, the BJP emerged victorious in the state s Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) elections.
GUWAHATI: After taking over the reins in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in alliance with the UPPL and GSP, the ruling BJP on Saturday registered a thumping win in the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) elections held across four central Assam districts.
As per the tentative final results of TAC election issued by the Assam State Election Commission till the filing of this report, BJP had won 33 out of 36 seats in the autonomous council, while its ally, AGP, had won two seats. Of the 33 seats, the saffron party had already won one seat uncontested. Congress had to settle for one seat.

Guwahati: Reacting to reports stating that state Finance, Health, and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met former Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Friday (December 18) night, Minister Sarma said, Why would I meet Hagrama Mohilary .
Speaking to media, Minister Sarma said, why would I meet Mohilary. There is no reason left that we would meet for. I have said earlier that our path is different now. He said he went to Vivanta by Taj (a hotel in Guwahati) to meet Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

Guwahati: Counting of votes for the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) 2020 elections results started today morning. Fate of 124 TAC poll candidates are being decided today.
TAC Election Result Update: After the first round of counting, BJP is leading in 18 seats.
6.18 AM: BJP is leading with 33 seats while AGP in 2 seats and Congress in one.
4.20 PM: BJP s Paresh Ranghang wins from Sonapur.
