The Selective Service System currently discriminates on the basis of gender in requiring only men to register for the draft. Male-only draft registration is one of the very few remaining examples of sex discrimination under federal law and must be reversed to remove outdated stereotypes that are harmful to both men and women.

We recognize and applaud the sponsor and all the legislators who have endeavored to tackle these very difficult issues. Democracy is not static – it is a vibrant process, and their efforts are an important part of all our efforts to have a more perfect union. We respect the efforts of the legislation and while we have concerns with aspects of the proposal, we do not take issue with the well–meant intentions of the effort.

The storming of the Capitol Wednesday is despicable, and everyone involved must be prosecuted.
The fact is, it didn’t happen out of nothing. We had a deeply questionable election. President Trump’s remarks that day were unwise and unhelpful, making promises and raising expectations he could never fulfill.
So have been those of his strident opponents.

Senator Josh Hawley, who led the charge among Republican senators to object to the 2020 election results, continued to defend that charge on Wednesday night as
High-ranking Ohio Republicans condemned the actions of those who stormed the Capitol Wednesday afternoon.
Others just tweeted they re safe or that they have confidence the Capitol police will resolve the situation.

Wenstrup called the protestors criminals in a tweet. This violence must stop, Wenstrup tweeted. The criminals who have broken into the U.S. Capitol, injured law enforcement, and disrupted the constitutional process are not patriots. No matter what flag one is carrying, people violating the law need to be held accountable.
Wenstrup went on to say that Americans are free to exercise free speech but must do so peacefully.
