The hand of our Lord reached down and welcomed one of his son’s home. Boleslaus Bill Wrobel, 70, of Wheeling, WV and most recently Colonial Gardens of Butler, PA, passed away, December 22, 2020, at the Butler Memorial Hospital from Covid-19.
Bill was born June 24, 1950 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late John and Bogumilia Wrobel and was raised by the Sisters of Saint Joseph at Saint John’s Home.
Bill is survived by his wife, Verna Mae (Taylor); sister Barbara Sweeney; brothers George and Bruno Wrobel; nieces Bobbie Jo (Pete) Sloan, Patricia Bean, Nina Sweeney; nephews Fritz (Jamie) Sweeney, Jim Sweeney, Mike (Sita) Wrobel.
This past week, Colorado Senate President Leroy Garcia, Jr. (D) was selected to serve as the immediate past president of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). He joins the bipartisan organization’s leadership team serving the nation’s 7,383 state lawmakers and legislative staff. Garcia was appointed to serve the remaining term of former Vermont Speaker Mitzi Johnson (D), who lost her election in November.
The position exists as one of seven officers who help steer NCSL to best serve legislators and legislative staff by guiding important policy and budgetary decisions.

Hopkinton architecture firm hires assistant project manager

Hopkinton-based Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects has hired Jorge Gomez as the firm’s architecture studio assistant project manager.
Gomez comes to GRLA with a breadth of architectural and interior design experience, having worked on multiple residential projects throughout Massachusetts and New York as well as commercial and healthcare projects.
Gomez holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College and a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture degree with a focus on Adaptive Reuse from the Rhode Island School of Design. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2005 as a member of 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Reserve unit and was called for duty as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002.
They were known for getting involved and lending a helping hand wherever they were needed.
Both men were immigrants who worked hard, and were instrumental in the success of many events, and lent many a helping hand. The community mourns their passing.
Jim Lester
James Samuel Lester, born Aug. 27, 1945 in Swalwell, Alberta, Canada passed away Dec. 30, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga.
He and his wife Donna were Beaumontâs Citizens of the Year in 2010, named by the Chamber of Commerce, of which he helmed as president and served as a board member for several years.
