Ohio EPA requests nominations for drinking water projects The Times-Reporter The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is accepting nominations for drinking water infrastructure improvements that need financial assistance through the state’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account.  Highlights for 2022 priorities include $10 million in principal forgiveness to be offered for priority areas to residential areas currently using contaminated private wells or wells with inadequate supply; lead service line replacement projects that will continue to be an area of emphasis for principal forgiveness funding; and no interest loans to be offered to projects focused on per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances remediation, lead service line replacement, system regionalization, project planning and design and harmful algal bloom issues.

Staff Writer WASHINGTONVILLE Village Council this week selected a civil engineering firm to design the new water tower. Council hired Engineering Associates of Wooster for the design engineering of the tower, which will now be submitted to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for approval. Once approved, council can use the design plan to apply for funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Council reviewed design proposals from both Engineering Associates and Howells & Baird at a special meeting. Council delayed the decision for two weeks so Howells & Baird could provide a cost estimate. Engineering Associates had already prepared the preliminary cost estimate for replacing the water tower.
