Grand opening Wednesday for beer/wine bar
The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce hosts a grand opening Wednesday for Next Door Craft Beer & Wine Bar, 7235 El Cajon Blvd. The celebration and mixer starts at 5:30 p.m., with the “official” ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. Next Door Craft Beer & Wine Bar serves a top-notch selection of craft beer and has a selection of 52 wines to choose from. The bar also serves food cheese plates, meat and cheese plates, sandwiches, salads and more. Meet owners Arturo Alarid, Juan Alarid and Linda Baltodano, who will be offering Happy Hour pricing for beverages and serving appetizers. This event is free to Chamber members and $5 for guests. Night hours for El Cajon vaccination clinic
The county-run COVID-19 vaccination site at the East Public Health Center, 367 N. Magnolia Ave. in El Cajon, will start offering evening hours from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The clinic will be administering Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to people with and without appointments. People are welcome to drop in, whether for a first dose, or for a second dose that is a follow-up to a dose received elsewhere. Anyone age

SAN DIEGO, April 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Building on the sustainability strategy it released last October and its pledge to reach net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2045, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) announced it is developing two hydrogen pilot projects, nearing completion of an additional battery storage facility and will break ground on another, and launching a vehicle-to-grid pilot program featuring six electric school buses, among other efforts.
