(WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reported than 900 new daily COVID-19 cases across the state in the latest daily count. MSDH reported 920 additional cases Thursday statewide and eight new deaths. Six deaths were reported between Feb. 13-Feb. 23. Another two deaths were discovered through a review of death certificates between Feb. 11-Feb. 17. The latest figures brought the state’s total cases and deaths since March 2020 to 292,811 and 6,613.

(WDAM) - Students from William Carey University’s College of Health Sciences have pitched in for the fight against the coronavirus. Since mid-December, students in the School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy have been serving at immunization sites in hospitals and clinics. The group includes students from the School of Pharmacy’s Tradition campus and School of Nursing from the Baton Rouge, La., Tradition and Hattiesburg, campuses.
