ArkLaTex 60 Strong is a public service program that celebrates 12 local seniors (between 60 and 69) who prioritize health and fitness, give back to others, or perhaps have overcome an obstacle in their life, said Laura Nelson, of Stafford Communications. Nelson is doing marketing for the program. Collom and Carney Clinic in Texarkana and Diagnostic Clinic in Longview are sponsors of the ArkLaTex 60 Strong contest in conjunction with the launch of LiveWell Senior Care Advantage, a program designed to provide seamless and greater coordination of care for their senior patients.

Enter the 60 Strong Calendar Contest in East Texas: Celebrate Life After 60!

 You, or someone you know, could be featured as a pin up in the 2022 ArkLaTex 60 Strong calendar, an exclusive calendar showcasing inspirational 60 somethings and highlighting area events and activities. In addition to appearing in the calendar, winners receive celebrity treatment with a professional photo shoot and compensation for their modeling time. Anyone age 18 or older can nominate a friend or family member age 60 to 69 who has achieved remarkable levels of fitness, pursued a new hobby or given back to others in some way. Perhaps the candidate is fighting a chronic condition or caring for someone who is.  Here s how it works:

Free plant diagnostic services at July 8 MU field day Submitted by University of Missouri Extension Center COLUMBIA, Mo. – Farmers can bring samples of damaged soybean, corn and wheat crops for free diagnosis at the University of Missouri Extension Pest Management Field Day on July 8. MU Plant Diagnostic Clinic director Peng Tian and other MU scientists will check plants on-site for damage by diseases, herbicides, insects and weeds, says MU Extension weed specialist Kevin Bradley. The annual field day is held at the MU Bradford Research Center near Columbia. Registration starts by 7:45 a.m. Weather permitting, wagon tours of research plots showcasing herbicide treatments and weed management in corn and soybean begin at 8:30 a.m.
