Congressman Brian Mast says he s been fined $500 by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for taking off his mask in the House chamber.
Mast says he s following CDC guidance, which says fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing. But Pelosi insists that everyone wear a mask, even those like Mast who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
A second violation would cost $2,500.
The Republican Representative says Democrat Pelosi is not following the science and this is all about power and control over the American people.
Two other lawmakers are also facing fines. Texas Republican Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne and Iowa GOP House member Mariannette Miller-Meeks also ditched their masks. Seven others were warned that they ll be fined the next time they violate Pelosi s order.
