(WALB) - A Lowndes County grand jury has returned a true bill, indicting John Lewis Shearer, 38, for sexual exploitation of children, for having hundreds of images and videos of underaged children in sexually explicit conduct. He was arrested in September 2019, and the indictment was returned on Jan. 29 of this year, according to District Attorney Brad Shealy of the Southern Judicial Circuit. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office in Martinez, California was also involved in this investigation, according to the indictment.

Richmond police arrest parents on suspicion of murdering 5-week-old baby boy By Lisa Fernandez article RICHMOND, Calif. - Richmond police have arrested two parents on suspicion of murder and child abuse charges stemming from the death of their baby. In a news release, Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy said an employee at the Mariott Courtyard Hotel on Garrity way called 911 on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to report that a couple had rushed out of the building with their baby, saying the boy wasn t breathing and they were going to the hospital.  The Marriott Courtyard is currently being used by Contra Costa County to assist with housing unsheltered poeple during the COVID-19 pandemic. Police said that s why this family was there.

Getty images The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has charged Jason Ivan Mosqueda, 39, of Richmond, with one count of murder, one count of violating a restraining order, and three counts of probation violation in connection with the killing of his brother at a home in the Montalvin Manor neighborhood on Sunday, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Mosqueda is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility without bail. Just after 7 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office responded to a home in the 1700 block of Lettia Road after a resident reported that her injured son, identified as Edward Mosqueda, 42, of Concord, was unresponsive.

According to a report released by District Attorney Diana Becton’s office Monday, the five officers involved in the incident justifiably feared for their lives and acted in accordance with the law.
