The sounds of their cheering were muffled but audible on the other side of the building, in a temporary shelter for hundreds of other children all of them unaccompanied minors who recently crossed the border and now face an uncertain future.The Dallas site is one of more than a dozen temporary shelters the Biden administration frantically established to accommodate the record number of unaccompanied minors now arriving at the U.S. southern border.Details that have emerged in recent weeks reveal the race behind the scenes to set up the sites, recruit volunteers and staff, and then relocate children to a sponsor, like a parent or relative, in the United States while they continue with their immigration

Dallas Morning News/University of Texas at Tyler poll that shows actor Matthew McConaughey beating Greg Abbott for governor has Texans wondering if such a result is possible.
It’s doubtful.
Texas residents are too comfortable or satisfied to vote Abbott out of office. As the governor points out, people are expressing their opinions about the Lone Star State by moving here in droves. The electorate includes folks who believe Abbott is doing a solid job, and others whose lives are prosperous enough that they don’t care who sits in the governor’s mansion.
