By: Victoria Balderrama and last updated 2021-01-29 08:43:22-05 ROBSTOWN, Texas — Another mega drive-through event is being held today at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown. The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District says it received 5,000 Moderna vaccines on Thursday. The district will begin giving those vaccines out this morning beginning at 8 a.m. to people in Phase 1-a and 1-b and its first-come, first-serve. Also, people who received their first dose of the vaccine in late December will be getting a second dose today.

What to know about Nueces County COVID vaccine clinics this week

The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District will hold two COVID-19 vaccination drive-thru clinics this week. The health district said Sunday that it would receive a shipment of 5,500 Moderna vaccine doses this week. The supplies arrived Monday. Five thousand doses will be given at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds on Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. Those doses will all be given on Tuesday so state officials can test the vaccination system’s capacity. There will be no online pre-registration; all registration will be done on site. On Friday, 500 doses will be given to people who received their first shot at the health district’s drive-thru clinic on Dec. 29. Public health director Annette Rodriguez said 537 people were given their first shots during that clinic.
