Joseph Parker s management has confirmed the split between the Kiwi heavyweight boxer and his long-time trainer Kevin Barry which was first revealed in the Herald this morning.
In a statement from manager David Higgins, Parker, the former WBO heavyweight world champion, paid tribute to Barry, saying the partnership had ended amicably.
The pair decided to part ways yesterday following Parker s unanimous points win over Junior Fa at Auckland s Spark Arena on Saturday.

Chris Stapleton has teamed with Buffalo Trace Distillery to help raise money for disaster relief in Texas and Kentucky by auctioning off select bottles of the new “Bottled in Bond Day” commemorative edition of Col E.H. Taylor, Jr. single barrel whiskey. The bottles are in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Col. Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. getting the Bottled in Bond Act passed, which was the first consumer protection act.
“The first glass of E.H. Taylor, Jr. I ever had was in the studio. Vance Powell, engineer of both music & good times, brought a bottle to the session for inspiration,” Chris shares on Instagram. “That week we recorded an entire album, and that album was ‘Traveller.’ We’ve made it a point to keep a bottle around ever since.”
