King County Executive joins growing calls for sheriff s resignation

A newly-revealed letter indicates that King County Executive Dow Constantine has joined the growing calls for Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht’s resignation.
Calls for the sheriff to resign first began after an internal email from her to her staff surfaced publicly, where she offered support for the deputy who shot and killed 20-year-old Tommy Le in 2017.
Le, a 20-year-old Vietnamese-American student, was killed after being shot twice. Deputies were first called when neighbors reported seeing Le with a sharp object threatening people. Deputy Cesar Molina was the third deputy to arrive and opened fire less than two minutes later, initially saying Le lunged at deputies with a knife and claimed self-defense.

Northgate Station
Sound Transit
After 15 years of planning and construction, Sound Transit announced Friday that the Northgate Link will officially open on October 2 of this year.
The Northgate extension of the light rail system is 4.3 miles long, with 3.5 of those miles running underground. Tunnel boring equipment began work on the extension’s two underground tunnels in 2014 and took two years to complete.
The extension features two underground stations and one elevated station. The underground stations will serve the Roosevelt and University (U) District areas, and the elevated station will serve Northgate.

Sound Transit Board Chair and University Place Mayor Kent Keel said “With Northgate’s completion Sound Transit will enter an exciting period of opening major light rail extensions every year through 2024, nearly tripling the region’s light rail system from 22 miles to 62 miles. This drum

It was such a great night! A few of us current teachers met a former teacher from 1956! She was amazing! We talked to her and her sister almost the whole evening! She even showed us some pictures of her teaching!

Sorry on behalf of our system that the photo is flipped. I’ll fix it when I can. Funny thing is that when I first saw that comment while viewing on my phone, it was right side up. Photos from commenters go into a different system than photos we upload but I should still be able to download it, flip it, and reupload it when back at HQ.
