PETERSBURG, Fla. – Dr. Arthur S. Billings, 86, died of natural causes Jan. 17, 2021, at the Masonic Home of Florida in St Petersburg. He previously resided in Treasure Island, Fla. with his wife, Patricia Trenkle Billings. Arthur was born May 26, 1934 to Herold and Naomi (Stevens) Billings in Presque Isle where he spent his childhood. Arthur graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor’s degree in 1956. He went on to pursue a career in medicine, graduating in 1960 from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Mo.

Levesque, 76, passed away on Jan. 20, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Portland. He was born May 25, 1944 to Lucien and Alice (Roy) Levesque in Spartanburg, S.C. where his father was preparing to deploy to the European theatre of WWII. The eldest of six children, Dick grew up in Columbia, Conn. He was a mischievous teen who eventually found direction and purpose as a competitive swimmer. Dick attended Springfield College where he was on the swim team and earned a degree in biology.

New Leadership Team at Family Medicine Residency Program

On Jan. 4th, the Dr. Rebecca Collins is the new Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Collins will lead alongside newly promoted Associate Program Director, Dr. Samantha Rai and Dr. London Muse, who was promoted to Associate Program Director in 2019 and is also Medical Director at Sleepy Hollow Open Door.  These changes usher in a new leadership structure for the program. Rebecca Collins Dr. Collins completed her family medicine training at Columbia University’s Center for Family and Community Medicine, medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and public health training at A.T. Still University. She is one of the founding faculty members of this residency program. Over the course of her career in both academic and community health center administration, she has concentrated her work efforts on providing high quality, comprehensive healthcare to underserved communities. New doctor in Yreka: Dr Kien Tran comes to Siskiyou from Michigan

Siskiyou Daily News “I see this as an opportunity to be a doctor in a rural area that needed help and was looking for doctors like me,” said Dr. Kien Tran, Fairchild Medical Center Clinic s new Internal Medicine specialist. That’s why I m here.    Tran, 51, jumped at the chance to practice medicine in Yreka when he was recently offered the position. He started his duties in October after working for more than 20 years as a physician in Michigan.   Before his phone interview with the Siskiyou Daily News, Tran s staff said he would be running late because a patient needed extra time to discuss an issue they had. Tran said it was important to prioritize this patient and to thoroughly go over their concerns and ways to treat the issue.
