BATON ROUGE - The driver of an 18-wheeler involved in a deadly February 23 pile-up on US 190 has been charged with negligent homicide.
The wreck resulted in the death of a 13-year-old girl and also injured some of the individuals in the 15 other vehicles that were involved.
The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. on US 190 in the lanes heading into East Baton Rouge.
Louisiana State Police say Marlin Jordan was behind the wheel of a 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer, headed east on US Hwy 190 when he approached stopped traffic on the downslope of US Hwy 190 and was unable to stop.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A man wanted in connection with badly hurting two women in Baton Rouge while robbing them was arrested in Kenner on Tuesday, April 12, according to investigators.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Freddie Washington IV, 20, of Baton Rouge, was caught by the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force.
Investigators said they believe he is responsible for robbing two women on Nicholson Drive near West Lee Drive on April 9 around 3:45 a.m. The victims are still in the hospital and only listed as stable, according to officials.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An Uber driver has been arrested for allegedly kicking down the door of an LSU studentâs off-campus apartment and entering the home only to be scared off by the presence of the studentâs roommate, according to arrest records.
According to arrest records obtained by WAFB, Jose Cruz Fernandez, 48, of St. Gabriel, was arrested on Wednesday, April 14 on the charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
Deputies say Fernandez, while working as an Uber drive, picked up a passenger, who is an LSU student, and began driving them to their off-campus apartment in the 400 block of Ben Hur Road around 2 a.m. on April 7.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A 69-year-old man is accused of beating and stabbing a fellow resident to death inside their senior living facility in Baton Rouge.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the suspect, Larry Woodard, has been charged with second-degree murder and booked into parish prison. Larry Woodard, 69, was arrested in connection to the stabbing death of Francis Marinelli, 67, in the 7500 block of Bishop Ott Drive. (Source: EBRSO)
