Transfer Portal Update: Loughead Joins UNC, Entrants from Notre Dame, Michigan, More

Sunday February 7th, 2021 10:45am (Inside Lacrosse Photo: John Baker) As expected, the NCAA s Transfer Portal has been incredibly active in the 11 months since a blanket waiver provided an extra year of eligibility to all student-athletes affected by last spring s cancellations. Keep in mind that entry into the Portal simply means that players can communicate with other college programs and learn their options, as many players (UVA s Payton Cormier, for example) haved chosen to stay put or graduate and opt not to use the extra year.  Set to become four-year starters on offense, Michigan seniors Alex Buckanavage and Kevin Mack entered the Portal as graduate students, a spokesperson for UM confirmed this week.
