Guadalupe County officials provide COVID-19 update

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Feb 26, 2021 5:12 AM (Seguin) – In the midst of a historic winter storm, all eyes remained on efforts to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. That’s according to Patrick Pinder, the Guadalupe County emergency management officer. Pinder on Tuesday provided the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court with the latest breakdown on those efforts. The first, of course, was on the hospitalizations of residents in the county specifically at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. “This hospital currently has 13 patients hospitalized for COVID. That number has gone down significantly over the last few weeks. It’s good news to see. Talking to them, they are not having as much issues over there. They have two people per day coming in for COVID and are admitted. That’s good news. That’s good to see. ou are not the only one looking for the COVID-19 vaccine; Guadalupe County says it s waiting for its allocation too

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today Jan 28, 2021 4:36 AM (Seguin) “There are just not enough vaccines to go around.” Those are the words of Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher who is providing yet another update and reminder to all those who are looking for the COVID-19 vaccine. “Everything that we’ve been talking about just like the public has been hearing, there’s not enough vaccine to go around. We’ve got right around two million vaccines distributed in the state of Texas for 30 million Texans. If they were distributing 200,000 to 250,000 vaccines per week, it would take over 70 weeks to vaccinate the entire state of Texas, so we’ve got some supply deficiencies to say the least but what we’ve focused on working with our partners in the city of Schertz, Cibolo, Selma, Seguin, New Braunfels and the smaller cities is basically identifying and solidifying those mass vaccination sites within multiple major cities but also with our partners working with volunteer groups
