Our second stop in our preview of the Cubs minor league system takes us to South Bend and the Cubs “new” High-A affiliate, the South Bend Cubs.
Please note that this preview is based on the Opening Day rosters that were announced last Friday. It’s actually common to see some changes in the roster before Opening Day, as players either get hurt or get healthy in the meantime. Or in the world that we live in these days, they could be in quarantine. Let’s hope that last one doesn’t happen, but it might.

Last week, officials from the Quad Cities River Bandits announced that individual game tickets for the 2021 season went on sale on Friday. On Thursday in a press release, officials also announced their 2021 promotion schedule. This year s promotional schedule is going to be jammed pack with fun, fireworks, and a ton of giveaways.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Cubs are excited to welcome fans back to Four Winds Field for Opening Night 2021 on May 4.
The Cubs have a number of exciting events planned for the first homestand of the season, and a number of tickets are still available for the games.
The following games make up the first homestand and feature special promotions:
Tuesday, May 4, Quad Cities River Bandits, 7:05 p.m.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for Opening Night 2021.
First 1,000 fans receive a South Bend Cubs 2021 magnet schedule.
Banner-raising ceremony honoring the 2019 South Bend Cubs Midwest League Champions.

DAVENPORT, Iowa Baseball is coming back to Modern Woodman Park in Davenport for the 2021 season, and the Quad Cities River Bandits are putting together their game day team.
The River Bandits held a job fair at the ballpark on Saturday. The club is looking to fill jobs in concessions, the ticket booth, custodial work and on the grounds crew, among other positions.
Even with the pandemic, the team s owner said they are not cutting jobs, since there are more strict cleaning procedures and guidelines.
Ballpark staff said they hope to have people officially hired within the next week.
