Montana s mask mandate will expire on Friday (Feb 12), and Governor Greg Gianforte says that he will not institute a new one to take its place. When he became governor, Gianforte said he was for personal responsibility when it came to the issue of wearing masks. Tomorrow, the governor plans to allow the current mask mandate instituted by his predecessor to expire. Thursday, the Gallatin City-County Health Department responded with a message on their Facebook page: Don’t quit before the finish line! The Gallatin County’s emergency rule requiring the use of face coverings in indoor public spaces remains in effect through April 20, 2021. The Board of Health must vote to amend or extend this local public health rule.

Judge dismisses county lawsuit against Rocking R Bar over COVID restrictions MTN NEWS and last updated 2021-02-06 14:28:20-05 BOZEMAN — A lawsuit filed on behalf of Gallatin County against the Rocking R Bar in downtown Bozeman over adherence to emergency health orders was dismissed on Friday. The suit was initially brought in response to the bar’s alleged, repeated violations of a 10 p.m. closing time rule put in place by the Gallatin City-County Board of Health due to the coronavirus pandemic. In a signed order, Gallatin County District Court Judge Rienne McElyea said the case was now moot “.in light of actions of the Governor, the Board of Health, and the Health Officer.”
