Big changes coming to vaccination process in Pueblo, what you need to know. PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) On Friday, Pueblo County Health officials announced the city s COVID-19 vaccination clinic located at the Pueblo Mall would be changing its location. Starting Monday, the clinic would move to the Colorado State Fairgrounds as Centura Health and COVID Check Colorado would take over vaccination operations. This is an incredible development for Pueblo, said Pueblo County Health Director Randy Evetts. It will expand the amount of vaccines that can be given in a day. Currently at the Pueblo Mall clinic, Pueblo Health officials administer around 1,500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine every day. With the state taking over the operation, Evetts says they ll eventually be able to provide around 6,000 doses.

Colorado to run Pueblo vaccine clinic Testing site moving back to mall

The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment has announced the opening of a state-run regional vaccination clinic at the Colorado State Fairgrounds, to open on March 22. The fairgrounds have been host to the county s COVID testing site. The testing site will move to the Pueblo Mall beginning Monday. This also comes in conjunction with a new phase of vaccinations to be open for those who are age 50 or older, are in one of several categories of frontline essential workers, or are age 16-49 with at least one high-risk condition. Staffers of the community vaccine clinic and the health department have focused on vaccinating the whole community through phases for several months, and aim to get those in the current eligible phase vaccinated as soon as possible. To this end, the Pueblo Emergency Operations Center leaders have opted to let the state take over the Pueblo Vaccine Clinic.

The clinic in Colorado Springs is open as of Wednesday, the two other clinics will open on March 22 at the Colorado State Fair Grounds in Pueblo and Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
