Greenwood Gets State Grant to Pay for Road Improvements
GREENWOOD, Ind. Improvements are coming to some roads in Greenwood next year, thanks to a bit of funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The city will receive $1 million from INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program to upgrade and enhance roadways in the Meridian Meadows and Kensington Park subdivisions. Greenwood will contribute $1.2 million for a total estimated cost of $2.2 million for all of the projects.
“From sewers and stormwater drains to roads, sidewalks and waterways, infrastructure is the most important local issue that often gets the least appropriate amount of attention,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers.
