Danita McFadden retiring from a 41-year nursing career

From a young age, Danita McFadden knew she wanted to be a nurse and help people feel better. When she visited her grandparents, she would get her grandfather a cool cloth for his head when he laid down for a nap.
“He would say, ‘Thank you. That feels so good,’” she recalled. “The satisfaction I got for making him feel better made me feel good, too.”
Her desire to care for people led to a 41-year nursing career. In December 2020, McFadden hung up her stethoscope, retiring from Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, where she served patients at both Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County and Community Care Hospice, which are affiliates of Ohio’s Hospice.

The Health Alliance of Clinton County recently donated $1,000 to Community Care Hospice, funds which will be used for patient care and services.

American Legion Auxiliary Post 49 gives $500 to Community Care Hospice for patient care

WILMINGTON The American Legion Auxiliary Post 49 of Wilmington recently donated $500 to Community Care Hospice, an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice. The funds will be used for patient care and services.

Ohio’s Hospice recently named Missi Knisley executive director of Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County and Community Care Hospice.
Knisley brings more than 30 years of healthcare and hospice experience to the not-for-profit organizations in addition to 15 years of experience in marketing.
Before joining Ohio’s Hospice, Knisley was a marketing and admissions director at Court House Manor Skilled Nursing facility for 16 years. She served as executive director of Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County from 2005 to 2015. For the past five years, she worked as a licensed nursing home administrator at Court House Manor/St. Catherine’s Manor/Court House Manor Assisted Living.
Volunteers scatter kindness and joy to hospice patients, families

WILMINGTON The volunteers at Community Care Hospice continued their annual tradition of decorating and delivering Christmas trees to patients. They decorated and delivered small Christmas trees throughout Clinton and Fayette counties.
The ornaments placed on the trees were handmade. Crafters of all ages drew, colored, crocheted, sewed, painted and designed the ornaments for patients and their families to enjoy this holiday season.
“We know that this year has been difficult for everyone,” said Missi Knisley, executive director of Community Care Hospice and Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County. “Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, we were able to Scatter Kindness™ and spread Christmas joy to the patients and families we are honored and privileged to serve.”
