Southampton man attacked three sex workers in six months - and stamped on one of their heads A SOUTHAMPTON man who stamped on a woman s head and threw her in his car, threatened another with a knife after punching her, and threw a bike at a third, has been found guilty of the violent assaults. Everton Fyffe, 54, of Southcliff Road was found guilty by a jury after denying the attacks against the three vulnerable women during a just-over six month period in 2020. The court heard that all three women were working as sex workers at the time of the assaults.

Frog Lane, Fordingbridge A SOUTHAMPTON man has been found guilty of indecent exposure after he exposed himself to two women last year. A court heard how Robert Oakley, 51, of Lyon Street had exposed himself on two occasions to lone women in January 2020. On January 25 at 3.20, Oakley exposed himself to a 33-year-old woman who was walking alone with her dogs along Frog Lane in Fordingbridge. Only three days later, he then visited the same spot again and between 12.30pm and 1pm, revealed himself to another woman, aged 34. After a three day trial at Southampton Crown Court, Oakley was found guilty of two counts of indecent exposure.

Southampton Crown Court facing a backlog of cases

SOUTHAMPTON Crown Court is facing an increasing backlog of cases, figures show. A Parliamentary report has warned that the coronavirus pandemic has left the courts system in England and Wales in “crisis”, with a backlog of cases that will take years to clear. Ministry of Justice figures show that Southampton Crown Court had 321 outstanding cases at the end of December. Though this was a decrease of 7.2% from the end of September, it was 28 more than at the end of 2019, when there were 293. The Lords Constitution Committee has urged the Government to set out urgent plans, including new funding, to stop public confidence in the justice system being undermined.

Detective Constable David Alway was accused of assault causing actual bodily harm to Tamsyn Alway at their home in Bournemouth overnight on Friday December 13 2019. But a jury at Southampton Crown Court acquitted him of the single charge. The 41-year-old, who serves with Dorset Police, admitted pushing his wife, who he had separated from, but said he had done it in self-defence and had not meant to hurt her.
