Five of the felony charges included multiple suspects arrested for an attempted armed robbery in Castaic.
A containment had been set up Friday afternoon after five people allegedly attempted to rob a victim at gunpoint. At around 12:30 p.m., deputies received reports of a possible armed robbery on the 27000 block of Quincy St. near Hasley Canyon Rd. in Castaic, said Lt. Ethan Marquez, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We are investigating five male hispanics for robbery,” Marquez said at the time. “They were apparently armed with a firearm.”
According to Sheriff’s officials, all five suspects were taken into custody. No injuries were reported and no property was obtained by the suspects.

Homeless Woman In Custody After Making False Gun Report
A transient woman was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon in Newhall after she allegedly made a false gun report in an attempt to get two individuals “in trouble” after a verbal argument.
Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a fight call where a person reportedly had a gun on 16th Street and Railroad Avenue in Newhall, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“While dispatch stood on the line with the caller, deputies were able to locate her near the east side of Railroad Avenue and 15th Street in Newhall,” Arriaga said.
After Sheriff’s officials learned who she was, deputies found that she had multiple outstanding warrants.
Christopher Burson, 46, from Northridge, was arrested on a felony charge of being a felon in possession of tear gas, and misdemeanor charges of being in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Candace Reid, 47, from Simi Valley, was arrested on a felony charge of false impersonation, misdemeanor charges of being in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia as well as her outstanding warrants, Arriaga added.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with Reid’s bail set at $65,000, and Burson’s bail set at $0, according to arrest records.
