Deputies searched near a Goleta area school for a man who was believed to have a gun
GOLETA, Calif. - Schools were placed on brief lockdowns and residents were asked to avoid the area as Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Deputies searched for a suspect in Goleta.
It happened around 2 p.m. in the Evergreen area near Brandon School and Waldorf School.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Deputies searched the area for a man who was originally reported to have had a gun.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown and people were being directed to avoid the area while law enforcement searched the area.
UPDATE: Paul Cronshaw was located safe and has returned home.
The Montecito Fire Department and Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office thank the community for their help in finding him.

MONTECITO, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff s deputies are searching for a missing at-risk man in and around Montecito Sunday.
76-year-old Paul Cronshaw was last seen leaving the 600 block of Tabor Lane around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
He was reportedly wearing a dark colored Patagonia sweater with black jeans and was carrying walking sticks and a backpack.
CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Another bear was caught on camera this week in the Santa Barbara area.
A local viewer named German Corona got footage of the black bear running down Highway 192 at Shepard Mesa Road in Carpinteria.
He said it happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
After spotting the bear, Corona said he called the Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office to report it.
In the video, you can see the bear run up to a large Eucalyptus tree off the side of the road and stand against it for a moment before scampering off.

Lloyd Dobney, 94, of Solvang
SOLVANG, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office is seeking the community of Solvang s help in locating a 94-year-old man Thursday night.
Lloyd Dobney is described as a dementia patient. He was last reportedly seen around 7 p.m. near 600 Atterdag Road.
Lloyd is described as being 5-foot-6 and weighing about 150 pounds. He may be wearing a hat and glasses.
If you see him, you are urged to call 911 immediately.
