Ji Hoon Yong faces 14 criminal charges in connection with “his interactions with seven women between July 1 to Dec. 20, 2020.” Yong, 25, was charged with seven misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and seven misdemeanor counts of lewd conduct.

Dr. Paul Gothold, who was hired as the county schools Superintendent in June 2017, reportedly had at least two dinners with the lawyers while he was seeking the post in San Diego. “Paul Gothold asked us for help in securing the job of San Diego County Superintendent,” one of the lawyers told La Prensa. “Paul and his wife wanted to move to San Diego on a permanent basis and he asked us to make that happen,” the lawyer added.

Cortez | La Prensa San Diego Under a hot sun last Sunday, a group of protestors marched through the streets of Nestor calling for justice and accountability from the police. The march and a rally that followed were organized by the family of Raul Rivera, who suffered from mental illness and was fatally shot by police back in May of this year. A statement from the San Diego Police Department said he allegedly refused to drop a knife when confronted by police. Rivera’s family has raised questions about Raul’s death. They believe police officers could have prevented it. An investigation is underway.

San Diego County law enforcement and fire agencies have secretly run a local committee that has spent over $200 million on armored vehicles, facial recognition technology, license plate readers, drones, riot gear, and other security equipment and technologies without public participation and in violation of state “sunshine” laws, keeping the public in the dark about purchases of controversial police equipment. The San Diego Urban Area Working Group (UAWG, pronounced “yu-ag”) is the designated Approval Authority under a federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant program established after the September 11th terrorist attacks. UAWG, a subcommittee of the San Diego County Unified Disaster Council (UDC), is comprised of a police or fire department representative from each of the 18 cities in the county and the Director of the County Office of Emergency Services (OES) and has been conducting its meetings quietly without giving required public notices.

Cleaning Company Accused of Worker Fraud and Tax Evasion By Alexandra Mendoza The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office has filed criminal tax evasion and insurance fraud charges against the owners of a company that provides janitorial and housekeeping services to luxury hotels throughout Southern California. Hyok “Steven” and Woo “Stephanie” Kwon, a married couple, are being accused of purportedly hiding the existence of at least 800 people who worked for their company, Good Neighbor Services for at least a decade, as well as of not paying their employees workers’ compensation benefits or overtime. The couple also threatened to fire workers if they reported getting hurt on the job. In fact, one of their victims reported that she had to repeatedly ask for medical attention for her injury.
