BILLINGS- The impact of Covid-19 is visible across our community and state every day, but itâs the non-visible damage left behind from the pandemic that will continue to impact our community for years to come.
Thatâs part of the message Lenette Kosovich, CEO of Rimrock Foundation, will take to Congress Wednesday. Kosovich will address the Senate Committee on Finance, Subcommittee on Health Care, at a hearing titled âThe COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond: Improving Mental Health and Addiction Services in Our Communities.â
Mental health is essential to our overall health, and the importance of attending to mental health has become even more pronounced during the COVID-19.
Acknowledging that addiction is a crisis that “touches families in every community in red states and blue states, across all races and creeds,” President Joe Biden told Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit attendees in an address presented Monday that his administration is committed to facing the challenge head-on.
“The crisis is national, but the struggle is personal deeply personal,” he said.

“These models have decreased emergency room visits by 63% and jails by 60%, and homelessness by 41%,” says Stabenow.
The American Rescue Plan also allocates $4 billion toward mental health services, bolstering the push for more comprehensive coverage in Michigan.
