Spirits were high in the Wells Fargo Center with new first-round pick Devonta Smith and fellow Eagles in the house to ring the Bell. However, with Trae Young (32 points) back in the lineup, the Hawks got off to a much better start than Wednesday night, even going on a 13-0 run early in the first quarter. But led by a strong bench effort, the Sixers would climb back into things, before breaking the game wide open with a 42-20 second quarter. While Atlanta competed enough to keep this contest from becoming a laugher, the Sixers still coasted and earned plenty of rest for the starters in the 126-104 win. Philadelphia has definitely taken care of business so far as they close out this weak portion of the schedule to end the regular season. Bell Ringer time.

The Sixers’ two cornerstone stars were both out for the team’s Saturday afternoon matinee, and it’s safe to say the supporting cast did not rally in the absence of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Philadelphia had a dreadful first half offensively, shooting 3-of-20 from 3 with 10 turnovers. Then, after the Sixers had managed to cut Milwaukee’s lead to just one midway through the third quarter, the Bucks went on a 29-5 run, putting the game well out of reach. Some questionable officiating certainly didn’t help, but the Sixers weren’t nearly up to the challenge of overcoming their dynamic duo being sidelined. Final: Milwaukee 132, Philadelphia 94. Well, the Sixers held Devin Booker below 30 points. But honestly, missing three starters, you can’t be terribly disappointed about a hard-fought 116-113 defeat to a very good Phoenix Suns team. Philadelphia had no counter-spells to fight the wizardry of Point God Chris Paul (28 points, eight assists), and although the Sixers bottled him up for most of the night, Booker finally got loose for eight points in the final 2:03 of the game. After a missed free throw by Paul with less than a second left, Joel Embiid heaved a three-quarter-court shot that somehow banked off the glass and went halfway through the cylinder before clanging out.
