Syria criticizes UN Security Council s inaction on Israel s attack
Damascus, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad on Friday criticized the United Nations Security Council for its inaction and inability to stop Israel s escalating aggression against Palestine.
The state of paralysis of this body because the United States prevents it from taking on its responsibilities encourages Israel s occupation forces to continue its crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people, according to the foreign minister s remarks, read by Syrian delegate Bassam Sabbagh at a session of the Council.

A senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, has withstood all attacks and plots by its enemies and continues to be a major pillar of resistance front in the region.
