Caribbean countries report new cases of COVID-19. Barbados – Several Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries reported increased coronavirus cases (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours. According to the latest bulletin from the authorities, four people, including three males, were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Barbados, while five people have recovered. They said that the new positives were identified from the 662 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Meanwhile, 104 persons are in isolation. Barbados has recorded 3,946 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (1,906 females and 2,040 males) and 3,861 recoveries since March last year. Forty-five people have died from the virus. Guyana on Monday recorded 80 new COVID-19 infections from 236 tests, taking the country’s overall total confirmed cases to 14,442.

The public health laboratory has carried out 159,450 tests dating back to February 2020. Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 75,491 people have been immunised (first and second doses). COVID-19 UPDATE: Fourteen new cases, 10 recoveries

May 6, 2021 Fourteen new positive COVID-19 cases – six males and eight females – were recorded on Wednesday, May 5. They were identified from the 733 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Four of the new positives are male clients of the Psychiatric Hospital. Meanwhile, 10 people recovered from the viral illness and were discharged. There are currently 84 persons in isolation. Confirmed COVID-19 cases have reached 3,929 (1,896 females and 2,033 males) and 3,831 people have recovered. The island has recorded 45 COVID-19 deaths. A total of 156,736 tests have been carried out by the public health laboratory since February 2020. The number of people vaccinated under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 is 75,296 (first and second doses).
