The Pak-China Relations Steering Committee, in its maiden meeting, decided to expand its membership by bringing provinces in its fold and clarified its role in forwarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the presence of two other cabinet and statutory bodies.
The steering committee, which has been mandated to look after all aspects of China-Pakistan relations, met for the first time on Friday under the chairmanship of Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed his optimism on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would wipe out Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Sindh in the next general elections on account of performance.
During visits to different union councils of his constituency, Qureshi said that the PPP was no more the party of Zulifkar Ali Bhutto but now it had turned into a party of Asif Zardari. He said that current PPP leadership had put the ideology of ZA Bhutto aside.
