MADISON (WXOW) In its Sunday update, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services provided figures that showed that another 18,000 people are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Numbers from DHS show 2,450,261 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 42.1 percent of state residents according to DHS. The figures show that 1,827,807 people, or 31.4 percent of the state s population, are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 117,106 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 42.7 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 90,048, or 32.8 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
(WAOW) Confirmed cases of COVID-19 variants in Wisconsin are still on the rise.
North Central Wisconsin adds 21 variant cases, bringing the total to 35 which is nearly triple the week before. The 35 cases account for 17% of the 205 tests sequenced for variants in the region.
Variant cases still don t make up even a percent of all COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin.
As of Thursday, DHS says 592,994 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Wisconsin throughout the pandemic, an increase of 732 from the day before. Of those, DHS considers 9,139 as still active.
DHS also reports four deaths, bringing the total of those who have died from the virus to 6,725.

In Western Wisconsin to date, 113,745 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 41.4 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 83,138, or 30.3 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
