Zondo commission: Spies from another country stationed in Soweto for ANC Nasrec conference, says Dintwe By Kailene Pillay Share Johannesburg - There were spooks from a foreign country stationed in Soweto to monitor and influence the ANC’s Nasrec conference while millions of rands were stolen from the State Security Agency (SSA) to fund a political campaign by some factions of the ANC. These were allegations made by Inspector-General of Intelligence (IGI) Setlhomamaru Dintwe who gave evidence at the state capture commission of inquiry in Joburg on Wednesday. Dintwe’s evidence was related to his oversight during the peak state capture years of former president Jacob Zuma era.

A 29-year-old constable in the Eastern Cape allegedly shot his girlfriend and then took her to hospital, claiming she d been attacked by robbers. He then went on to open a case of attempted murder at a police station. But when police took his girlfriend s statement at the hospital, she told them it was, in fact, the constable who d shot her after an argument. The officer faces charges of attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, and perjury.

Free bail for policewoman who allegedly tried to shoot ‘cheating’ husband Share Johannesburg – The Free State policewoman who was accused of shooting at her ‘cheating’ husband has been released on warning at the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court. Constable Mampho Olga Sekoto, 31, was arrested on Tuesday by Independent Police Investigative Directorate officers after she discharged an official firearm at her husband, who she accused of cheating. Sekoto had been on duty, patrolling with a colleague, when her husband stopped by their police vehicle to speak to her. She had checked her husband’s phone and it is alleged that the policewoman then confronted the husband, accusing him of cheating. During the argument, she allegedly drew her firearm and fired shots in the husband’s direction.
