So-called private investigator Zane Kilian allegedly had so much personal information on murdered Anti-Gang Unit member Charl Kinnear that he even knew details of the detective
s bond.
The State alleged during his bail application that not only was Kinnear and lawyer William Booth tracked, but their wives and security company players were also targeted for either pinging or having their personal details trawled.
Kilian claims he only worked for a mystery Mr X who needed to know when the police were coming to his house.
On the day the Hawks descended on Zane Kilian s house in Springs in the course of the investigation into Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear s murder, he allegedly made a hurried phone call.
Police sjambokking complaints mount

THE SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has intervened in â¨Atlantis where a shocking 32 complaints against SAPS officials have been lodged for allegedly sjambokking â¨suspects apprehended during a service delivery demonstration last year.Two of the complaints are by minors, and one case involves a woman who was badly injured and had to be hospitalised. Scores of people in the area took to the streets in July last year to demonstrate for better services, including the provision of social housing and water and sanitation.
Police had arrested several suspects, with further information alleging â¨that police beat the suspects with a sjambok while they were in the holding cells.

Another police officer has been arrested and added onto the charge sheet of 44 other people who were arrested in connection with a R85 million police supply chain management fraud case.
Lieutenant-Colonel Jane Mthembu was released on R5 000 bail following her appearance in the Pretoria Magistrate s Court on Monday.
She is the 45
th person arrested and charged with corruption, fraud, forgery, money laundering and theft in the case. The case relates to the awarding of [a tender for] the marking and de-marking of SAPS vehicles valued at R56 million and cover quoting valued at R29 million, said Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson Sindiswa Twala.

JOHANNESBURG - The DA has formally written to State Security Minister Ayanda Dlodlo, requesting her to shutdown the State Security Agency (SSA).
This comes after a damaging week at the State Capture Inquiry, where commission chair Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo heard from several witnesses, including Sydney Mufamadi who was the chairperson of the high level review panel on the SSA.
Mafumadi detailed how the spy agency misused billions of taxpayer funds by allegedly bankrolling former president Jacob Zuma and also recruited members of the judiciary to secure favourable court outcomes for the former president.

The Johannesburg South High Court has sentenced a police officer has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend and her Uber driver.
In 2019, Sweni who was a police officer from the VIP Protection in Johannesburg, murdered his girlfriend at his father’s home in Edenpark after an argument.
When the Uber arrived, Msweni shot at both the victim and her Uber driver who both died on the scene.
“Sweni followed her and started shooting at the Uber vehicle. As he was shooting the Uber driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the gate which was closed around Edenpark,” says Independent Police Investigating Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Ndileka Cola.
