NCB Submits Charge Sheet In Drugs Case In Connection With SSR, 33 Named Including Rhea & Showik Chakraborty

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a charge sheet in the drugs case, in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput s death on March 5. According to a PTI report, the charge sheet filed in the Special NDPS court on Friday was over 12,000-pages long.
The report also revealed that the charge sheet has named 33 accused, including actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty. The document reportedly has statements of over 200 witnesses.
Sushant Singh Rajput s untimely demise on June 14, 2020 is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and NCB. While the money laundering angle is being probed by ED, NCB has been investigating the alleged drug nexus in Bollywood.

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday filed a voluminous, 61,700-plus page charge sheet, with annexures against 33 persons, including Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, in the drugs case related to the death of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Of this,11,700 pages were in physical form and over 50,000 were digital. The agency said that out of ecological concerns, it was filing a large portion of the annexures in soft form.
Of the 33 accused, only eight remain in judicial custody, with the others having been granted bail at different points. NCB Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande said that presently, the chargesheet included the statements of 161 witnesses and the agency had mentioned that more witnesses might be included later with the courtâs permission as investigation progressed. In the latest piece of news, in the drugs case that is part of the ongoing investigation in actor Sushant Singh Rajput s death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested two Indian and two British nationals after an operation was undertaken and Ganja recovered from one courier in Bandra West.
Among the two Indian nationals arrested in the operation is celebrity Dia Mirza s ex-manager Rahila Furniturewala. The second is Rahila s sister Shaista who too was found in possession of Ganja.
