Hyderabad: Dozens of candidates, including a sitting MLC each from BJP and TRS, are testing their fortune in both the upcoming graduate constituency MLC elections in Telangana. The main political parties have already declared their candidates for fighting the election but the field is also rife with independents.
Party gives B-Forms to its candidates for MLC polls
The Congress party appealed to graduates to elect G. Chinna Reddy and Ramulu Naik in the ensuing elections to two Graduates’ Constituencies in the Legislative Council as party win would end commercialisation of politics being practised by BJP and corrupt politics of TRS.
Party State president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, addressing a press meet here on Monday, after handing over B-Forms to party candidates for MLC polls, exuded confidence that the party would win the elections. The party has given tickets to former minister G. Chinna Reddy for Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad constituency and former MLC Ramulu Naik for Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda constituency. The TPCC president said the Congress party had picked efficient, able and committed leaders as its candidates.

Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy has said the TRS has no moral right to seek votes in the Graduate MLC elections without giving 45% fitment to the employees and claimed that TRS will be taught a lesson in these elections.
Speaking to reporters here, he said despite claiming to be employee-friendly, the government is treating them shabbily without giving their rightful due. Pay hike is the right of employees, he claimed.
The MLC questioned the silence of the employee union leaders despite the PRC recommending just 7.5% fitment. In the Congress governments, they used to fight for their rights and get a dignified response. But despite insults, the union leaders still express confidence in the government for unknown reasons, he said.
