Share Yale juniors Alie Brussel Faria and Eli Sabin are among 62 college students nationwide selected as 2021 Truman Scholars. The scholarship is the premiere graduate scholarship for aspiring public service leaders in the United States. It provides funding for graduate studies, leadership training, career counseling, and special internship and fellowship opportunities within the federal government. Faria and Sabin were selected from 845 candidates nominated by 328 colleges and universities a record number of applicants. Truman Scholars are chosen for their outstanding leadership potential, a commitment to a career in government or the nonprofit sector, and academic excellence. The Harry S. Mayor Bill de Blasio continued his criticism of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, saying that the governor’s statement on a new allegation of sexual harassment did not serve as an adequate apology. “He just clearly was letting himself off the hook from something that the women involved said sounded pretty terrifying,” de Blasio said.  The administration of Mayor Bill de Blasio highlighted vaccine statistics that show that a large chunk of doses administered at state-run sites in New York City are going to people who live outside the city. At the vaccine site at the Aqueduct race track in Queens, 75% of the shots have gone to residents outside of the city. At the Javits Center site, 42% of the shots have gone to residents outside of New York City.
