Birmingham fails in ozone pollution, says new report

The Birmingham metro area has received an “F” grade for ozone pollution in the American Lung Association’s latest State of the Air report, released this week by the advocacy group.
The report states that Birmingham had the 35th worst ozone pollution in the country, and gave the city an “F” based on the number of days ozone alerts were issued from 2017-2019.
There was some good news about Birmingham’s air in the report, as the city ranked among the lowest levels of short-term particulate air pollution in the country.

Even though she had a boyfriend, Tiffony said she saw no harm in Bruce walking her to the transit stop.

A new COVID-19 vaccination site has opened at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Five Points West.Â
Vaccines will be administered by MedsPLUS Consulting and Comprehensive Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at the location on Mondays and Tuesdays until April 27.Â
Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin and Jefferson County Commissioner Sheila Tyson along with medical providers were at the CrossPlex to raise awareness and encourage residents to receive their vaccine.Â
