(KMIZ) The Jefferson City School District announced Friday two new hires to round out their leadership team for the district at the end of the school year. Heather Beaulieu Bryan McGraw has been hired as Deputy Superintendent to succeed the district’s current chief of learning, Shelby Scarbrough, who is planning to retire on June 30, 2021. Heather Beaulieu, the current principal at West Elementary, has been promoted to the position of assistant superintendent of elementary education in place of Lorie Rost, who is also retiring at the end of the school year.

She will replace CFO Jason Hoffman after he announced plans to retire. “We are very excited to welcome Shari LePage to JC Schools and cannot wait to have her on our team,” JC Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum said. “Her comprehensive knowledge in operations and financial management makes her the perfect person to take on this important role.” She previously worked for the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Jefferson City School District to allow all fans at outdoor activities

Jefferson City School District to allow all fans at outdoor activities JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) The Jefferson City School District has announced it will allow all fans for Spring 2021 outdoor activities. With the rule change, it means that player cards will not be required to gain entrance but masks are still required. Concessions will be open but with only prepackaged foods. Visiting teams will need to sign a waiver saying all players and coaches have had temperature check and that no one has a fever over 100.4 degrees. Indoor activities will be limited to 20-percent capacity as well as player cards will continue to be used.

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Senior Services will open vaccination appointments Monday at 8 a.m., the department announced on Friday. Only those who live or work in Boone County, and are in an eligible tier, may schedule an appointment. Eligible tiers include Phase 1A and Phase 1B Tiers 1, 2 and 3. Phase 1B-Tier 3 will open on Monday. The first round of appointments will be available from Monday, March 15, to Saturday, March 20.  Eligible Boone County residents can schedule their appointment at CoMo.gov/CovidVaccine. The state of Missouri is moving into Phase 1B Tier 3 of vaccine distribution on Monday, which includes several groups like K-12 educators, childcare workers, and government employees.
