PARAÑAQUE CITY, Jan. 26 (PIA) Governments, business sector, local governments, youth, and civil society groups working for the protection of migrant workers across the globe called for greater cooperation on skilling migrant workers for employment as a strategic response to COVID-19 pandemic.
At the 13th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) Summit’s Roundtable Discussion on Skilling Migrants for Employment co-chaired by the Philippines and the United Kingdom, stakeholders pushed for concerted action of the international community in developing policy responses for effective skilling of migrants and ensuring their rights and contributions are addressed.

Two Ambassadors to Ghana, have paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia towards strengthening trilateral cooperation among the three countries.
The delegation comprised Ms. Shani Cooper, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ghana, Liberia and Sierra-Leone and Mr. Christoph Retzlaff, the German Ambassador to Ghana, who was accompanied by Madam Regina Bauerochse Barbosa, Country Director of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit in Ghana (GIZ Ghana).
The discussion was inspired by the Trilateral Cooperation between Ghana, Germany and Israel, which was launched in 2019 as a platform for exchange around and support to digital innovation.
The first two phases of the Trilateral Cooperation consisted of a webinar series facilitated by Mashav, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, on the Israeli innovation ecosystem and an overview and discussion on governmental action in Ghana.

The financing round was led by Silicon Valley-based Xplorer Capital, a key investor in autonomous technologies, and Futury Regio Growth Fund, a Germany-based growth capital fund focusing on investments in globally scalable business models. In addition, Futury Ventures and Hessen Kapital III participated in this financing round.
