Nebraska couple charged with child abuse out on bond SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - A Homer, Nebraska, couple facing multiple child abuse negligence charges is out on bond. Both 36-year-old Joshua Heaton and 32-year-old Maria Ison each face one count of third-degree domestic assault and six counts of misdemeanor child abuse negligence/no injury. The child abuse charges are for allegedly placing into a situation that endangered their physical or mental health. Authorities say a violent encounter between the couple was witnessed by their six children, which led to the charges. Heaton s arraignment in Dakota County District Court is set for April 27.

Degrote was previously assigned to care for an individual identified in the complaint as Client 1. Degrote stopped working with Client 1 in 2014.
