North Dakota Corn Growers to become a member of US Grains Council

As a member, NDCGA will have access to strategic market information and market intelligence. 1:05 pm, May 6, 2021 × The North Dakota Corn Growers Association (NDCGA) board announced at its spring meeting that NDCGA will become a member of the U.S. Grains Council, joining several other state corn grower associations. Board President Rob Hanson, Wimbledon, and board member Bart Schott, Kulm, will be the designated delegates to represent NDCGA. As a member, NDCGA will have access to strategic market information and market intelligence, as well as periodic updates on developments in the international markets. It will have the ability to assist in the direction of council programs and the development of export markets through participation in advisory teams and council activities.

Biofuel supported bills introduced on Capitol Hill

Legislators are looking to expand access and acceptance of biofuels with the introduction of several bills this week on Capitol Hill. On Wednesday, Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., introduced the Adopt GREET Act, a bill which would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to update its greenhouse gas modeling for ethanol and biodiesel to more accurately reflect the environmental benefits of agriculture and biofuels. The GREET model is a tool which examines the lifecycle impacts of vehicle technologies, fuels, products, and energy systems.
