Man arrested on murder charges in connection with child s death in Denver

DENVER â Police in Denver arrested a man Tuesday in connection with the death of a 9-month-old child last August.
Cain Gallardo, 21, was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder for the death of his girlfriendâs child, Gianna Rosales, on Aug. 3, 2020.
The injured infant was brought to Denver Health medical Center on Aug. 2. She was pronounced deceased the next day.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner determined the cause of Giannaâs death was blunt force injuries.
Police said Tuesdayâs arrest came after an extensive investigation to determine how Gianna sustained the trauma. Those details were not released as the arrest affidavit is currently sealed.

Roxann Martinez, a witness in a Pueblo murder trial who was fatally shot in Denver last week, may have been killed by her boyfriend, the Denver Police Department reported Thursday.
The department is looking for Martinez’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Chandler, in connection to the shooting. Police said he is wanted on a charge of first-degree murder.
Martinez, 31, was found dead Feb. 25 at 11 p.m. at East Kenyon Drive and South Wabash Street. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified Martinez and ruled the death a homicide on Tuesday.
Pueblo County District Attorney Jeff Chostner said Martinez was an endorsed witness for the prosecution in the case of Donthe Lucas, who is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Kelsie Schelling in 2013.

DENVER â The Denver district attorney announced Monday morning that two people â a 14-year-old juvenile and an 18-year-old â have been formally charged in connection to the murder of a 32-year-old woman.
Denver District Attorney Beth McCann said the male juvenile and and Neshan Johnson, 18, have both been charged in connection to the murder of Pamela Cabriales, who died following a shooting on W. Colfax Avenue and Interstate 25. She was shot in the head while sitting in her car on Feb. 20, police said. She was transported to a hospital, where she died.
