COVID-19 vaccinations are going on right now in Delaware County for a select group of people, but health officials say they’re not sure yet when vaccines will be available for the general public. It’s a common question they’re getting lately – when and how will the public learn when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available for everyone?
Delaware County Public Health says they are currently vaccinating those identified in the Phase 1A priority population of healthcare personnel and long-term care residents and staff.
As more COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, Iowa’s Infectious Disease Advisory Council will review guidance issued by the CDC’s advisory group to further prioritize populations to receive the vaccine. They are currently reviewing recommendations for the priority populations for Phase 1B and 1C. At this time, Delaware County does not have details of what these recommendations may be.
