The first toll hike in a decade goes into effect Sunday for drivers crossing Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission spans between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Last month, the commission approved two sets of toll increases, citing the COVID-19 pandemic’s slashing of commuter traffic and bridge revenue, which has yet to return to pre-pandemic levels.
Toll changes are planned for Sunday and then in January 2024, and affect the commission’s eight toll bridges.

The first toll hike in a decade goes into effect Sunday for drivers crossing Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission spans between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Last month, the commission approved two sets of toll increases, citing the COVID-19 pandemic’s slashing of commuter traffic and bridge revenue, which has yet to return to pre-pandemic levels.
Toll changes are planned for Sunday and then in January 2024, and affect the commission’s eight toll bridges.
That includes the Route 22 and Interstate 78 crossings in the Easton/Phillipsburg area, as well as the I-295 Scudder Falls Toll Bridge, the Trenton-Morrisville Route 1, New Hope-Lambertville Route 202, Portland-Columbia Routes 611, 46 & 94, Delaware Water Gap I-80, and the Milford-Montague Route 206 bridges.

Milford. Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission toll hikes will go into effect on Sunday, April 11.
The increase will apply to all seven DRJTBC toll bridges that accept E-ZPass and cash toll payments, including Route 206, Route 1, Route 202, I-78, Route 22, and Routes 611/46/94, I-80.
The toll increase raises the Class 1 passenger vehicle toll from $1 to $1.25 for E-ZPass and from $1 to $3 for cash tolls. The surcharge for Class 1 vehicles with a bumper-hitch trailer will increase from $1 to $2.
The tolls for the Scudder Falls (I-295) Bridge will increase from $2.60 to $3 for cash tolls. E-ZPass tolls will not be affected for Scudder Falls.

Drivers who pay cash to cross the Delaware River in north and central Jersey will have to pay $2 more to drive across starting early Sunday morning.
Tolls will increase for the first time in 10 years on the eight bridges run by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission that charge a fee. The commission also runs 12 “free” bridges that are supported by its toll bridges.
The toll increase that was approved by the commission on March 29 will take effect just after midnight April 11.
The cash and toll-by-license-plate rates will increase the most, from $1 to $3, which prompted one commissioner to vote against the toll increase because of the effect it will have on drivers who can’t afford an E-ZPass account that would get them a lower rate.
