Barbara Kowalski NIAGARA, Wis. Barbara Ann Kowalski, 84, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain. She was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Niagara, Wis., daughter of the late Fred and Buella (Whaley) Petersen. Barb was a lifelong resident of Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School, class of 1955. She married Robert Kowalski on July 3, 1955, in Niagara. Barbara worked at Maryhill Manor in her earlier years as a nurse’s aide and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. She enjoyed baking, making cookies at Christmas time, and distributing her baked goods to many friends in the area. Barb loved collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes which she would then share with her many friends. She loved planting a garden, canning, and was an avid reader, having read thousands of books. Barb would also collect pop can tops and donate them to area fundraisers. She will be missed by her family and many friend
