SCPC’s Ivanovska: Corruption Situation Very Serious “The corruption situation is very serious,” State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) President Biljana Ivanovska said at Thursday’s press-conference dedicated to the work in 2019-2020, symbolically, as she added, the end of the work on the old premises. According to her, corruption risks that have already been noted in the National Strategy, to which reports of international institutions point, continue to exist. Asked about the issue pertaining to former Government Sec Gen Dragi Raskovski, SCPC member Katica Nikolovska stated that a meeting had been held with the prosecutor in charge of the case in the frames of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. A deal was reached for the SCPC to submit its entire documentation, while it will continue the case.

SCPC Calls on PPO to Investigate “Big Ring” DUP At Thursday’s session, the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) proposed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to undertake all investigative actions, to provide all necessary evidence, to establish all relevant facts and to make a lawful and fair public prosecutorial decision regarding realization of DUP “Big Ring”. This detailed urban plan was adopted on 21 December 2012, and SCPC believes that its adoption caused violations by the planners, who as professionals in the field are obliged to act according to the rules of the profession and legal regulations, but also by municipal employees, both in the City of Skopje and in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which ignored such omissions and thus enabled the adoption of a detailed urban plan contrary to the legal regulations. Biljana Ivanovska, President of SCPC expressed hope that there will be an epilogue to this initiative by the SCPC.

VMRO-DPMNE: Raskovski Currently in Mexico VMRO-DPMNE came out with an announcement on Tuesday claiming that former Governmental Sec Gen Dragi Raskovski has gone to Mexico, and asked the government how was he able to go to Mexico despite travel restrictions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. PM Zoran Zaev said that he does not know where is Raskovski at the moment and that he will check the matter on Wednesday.
