Lobos Head to California for West Coast Relays
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The University of New Mexico track and field team heads to Clovis, Calif., to compete in the West Coast Relays tabbed to take place April 30 at Veteran Memorial Stadium. This will also be the location of the Mountain West Outdoor Championships that will take place on May 13-15.

The Lobos have been busy this season, competing in three different meets last weekend alone. Senior Jamari Drake made program history in the high jump at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open last weekend, jumping at a mark of 1.81m (5-11.25). The outdoor record was previously set at 5′ 10 3/4″ and had been done three times before, the last time being in 2002. Drake’s outdoor performance earned her first place and is the fourth-best mark in the NCAA this season.

The University of New Mexico track and field team is set to have another busy weekend and will first host the Don Kirby Tailwind Open at the Great Friends of UNM Track Stadium on Thursday starting at 9:20 a.m. MT. Fans will be allowed in a limited capacity. Tickets are available at this link or by calling 925-5626,
The Aggies will send a team to Albuquerque and also a number of distance athletes to Phoenix on Saturday for the GCU Invitational. The Lobos will also be participating in the Drake Relays in De Moines, Iowa, on Friday, and the LSU Alumni Gold in Baton Rouge, La.
