As the Thai government races against time to roll out its Covid vaccinations and provide financial packages to reduce the blow to the economy, one issue that continues to be ignored is the development of our children. Despite young children not being severely at risk of infection, their lives, especially the quality of their education and development, have been severely compromised as schools have closed and classes moved online.

(Photos courtesy of Department of Women s Affairs and Family Development) The Covid-19 situation has had a big impact on many families who are struggling to survive financially and emotionally each day. To help them get through this crisis, the Department of Women s Affairs and Family Development, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, has launched the Line Official Account: @linefamily which offers a private space for those seeking counselling to cope with various forms of problems. Developed in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation and a group of academics in family matters, the new platform comes with many categories of issues including family violence, how to build good relationships at home, child-raising, being a single mother during the crisis, and family law education.
