The next steps for the Master Plan for the Johnson County Healthcare Center was touched on by the hospital board at their recent meeting.
Not only capital construction projects, but looking at the possibility of financing those projects at the current lower interest rates to save money in the long run.
CEO Sean McCallister said he would like to bring Dan Odasz from Plan One Architects to a future meeting to help the board update their Master Site Plan now that some of those projects have been completed with COVID-19 funds.
McCallister said he would like to have the board discuss the Master Site Plan and a new electronic medical records system for the facility.
The COVID-19 projects at the Johnson County Healthcare Center are complete, and all documentation for them has been submitted to the State Loan and Investments Board, or SLIB, for the facility to be reimbursed.
Dan Odasz, with Plan One Architects, gave an overview of the projects to the board of trustees at their meeting Wednesday night.
The projects include the installation of five new air-handling units to replace the existing ventilation system; renovations of the family waiting room in the acute care area; the surgery patient recovery area; and the sterilization area.
JCHC CEO Sean McCallister said the final cost of the projects came in under the engineer’s estimates.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has said it is considering adding up to 16 residences to help its staff afford housing in Jackson Hole.
The agency has contracted with Plan One Architects to design a development near South Park Wildlife Habitat Management Area, the Jackson Hole News & Guide reported.
“We’re trying to be very (respectful) of the habitat, placing the housing up by the highway and not impacting habitat down below in the river bottoms,” Plan One Architects president Dan Odasz said.
The development is in early design and approval stages and would be built in two stages, officials said.
